Signs that you are suffering from heavy Kpop addiction
You know you are seriously obsessed with Kpop when:
1. Your favourite shop in shopping malls is comics connection, aka the shop that supply Kpop celebrities merchandise.
2. When you visit comics connection, you spend more time in that shop that any other shops in the shopping centre.
3. You check on the comics connection website frequently to see if there are any new arrivals for Kpop merchandise.
4. You tune in to XFM 96.3 daily from 8-10pm for 2 hours non-stop Korean hits.
5. You watch MTV channels only for the programme JK hits (and you would switch to other channels when Jpop hits are being played)
6. You think the channel KBS world rocks!!!
7. You like channel U on facebook because they show nice Korean dramas.
8. You will rebut when your friends or brothers criticise that Korean dramas are long and draggy.
9. You source for overseas magazines that report on Kpop celebrity news. And when you have sourced for it, you would find all means and ways to see where the heck in Singapore sells this magazine.
10. You contemplate of writing an email to magazine companies (SPH or mediacorp) and request them to publish an English magazine solely dedicated to Kpop because you think that there is a lack of such magazines in Singapore.
11. You log in to youtube daily without fail for Korean variety shows. And you can spend hours on youtube watching them.
12. The favourites category of your youtube account is filled with Kpop related videos.
13. You spend time memorising the names of each member of the different popular Korean idol groups.
14. 99% of the mp3s in your handphone is Korean songs.
Basically, Kpop rules your life and your life just revolves around Kpop, be it music, tv shows, latest news. There is minimal contact with the English or Chinese entertainment world, unless the celebrity figures are insanely popular like Lady gaga and Justin Bieber (His music video 'baby' has like gazillion views.)
There is no cure for Kpop addiction, unless the Korean entertainment industry stop producing addictive songs and dramas. Till then, you have to accept your addiction and live with it.
